Greetings and welcome to the Runebearer website. Runebearer is a free fantasy roleplaying game that has been around in some form or another for about 10 years. The game is an amalgam of systems and playstyles that my gaming groups and I have enjoyed over the years. March 1, 2010 -- Some minor changes to the western talents file and the western combat file.

December 2, 2009 -- Not much has been going on recently, and for that I apologize. I have been sucked into various MMOs and online games and have let things fall by the wayside. However, there is some good news. I just registered Runebearer under a Creative Commons License. This allows you to use Runebearer and Bostonia in your own projects.

July 2, 2009 -- Believe it or not, I have been working on Runebearer the past couple of years. In fact, the current version of the rules is Runebearer 2.0 which includes some minor changes to healing and experience and the major addition of the talent system. Talents are a huge addition to the way characters are created and how they advance. I will try to put together a quick article on the how talents work and why I added them to the game. In the meantime, download the new Character Creation rules and see for yourself -- Chris

July 1, 2009 -- Well, this site has been defunct for quite a while now, but we are back. The new site is a modest affair -- just a place to introduce people to the game and put some files and articles. I am going to try to put a new forum up to keep up with current Runebearer campaigns, discuss rules and post new material for review. I hope you enjoy it -- Chris
